2. If it is revolving with v0 and v' is provided then for escaping
1/2 m (v0+v') 2 - GMm/3R = 0. from here v' comes different and energy(i.e. 1/2 m( v')2) different from case 1
Which is correct.
If a satellite is revolving in a radius of 3R around earth energy req 2 make it escape?
I made 2 solns but can.t find out which is correct...
1. TEi=-GMm/6R
so if GMnm/6R is provided it will escape
2. If it is revolving with v0 and v' is provided then for escaping
1/2 m (v0+v') 2 - GMm/3R = 0. from here v' comes different and energy(i.e. 1/2 m( v')2) different from case 1
Which is correct.
-GmM/2r+1/2mv02+E=0
I think this will give the first answer!
2nd part i think u have made a slight mistake! I am still not exactly sure what.. but i will try to let u know :)
btw this is my first guess .. dont take it as a final answer yet!
basically in the second part, energy imparted is not 1/2m(v')2
but
1/2m(v0+v')2 - 1/2m(v0)2
