Q=1> A ship travelling at 10m/s. A dolphin at 5m/s along a line parallel to that of the ship and at a distance of 30 metre from it. The visibility is 50 metre. Find the maximum time for which the dolphin will be visible from the ship. The ship is 70 metre long.

i suppose that dolphin is ahead of ship initially .

discussing motion from the ship the velocity of the dolphin is -5m/s.

now the dolphin goes out of the sight when it had travelled = 30+70+50 m = 150

so it stays in sight for = 150/5 = 30 s

30 m is the _|_ distance

so max time = 40+40+705

which coincidentally is the same as 30s

in case anyone still has a doubt
40 because √502-302= 40
