Laws of Motion

Ques1)A mass M1 lies on a fixed smooth cylinder (Above figure). An Ideal string attatched to M1 passes over the cylinder to mass M2. Show that the system is in equliibrium if Sin A = (M2/M1)

Ques2) A body of mass m is kept on a rough horizontal surface of friction coefficient \mu {\color{red} }. A force is applied horizontally, but the body is not moving. Find the net force F exerted by the surface on the body.

Ques3) A block weighing 20 N rests on a orizontal surface. The coeficient of static friction b/w the block and the surface is 0.04 and the cofficient of kinetic friction is 0.20 . How long is the friction force be if a horizontal force of 5N is exerted on the block?

see in ques 3 we always have friction since we have normal reaction.if we apply a time varying force the frictional force will change that is from static to kinetic.

And also the coefficient of static friction is greater than that of kinetic friction.

the diag given by eure doesnt give much sense if u were a beginner u shud note that there is a tension in the string so it wont slack.eure knows it but this is for beginners.

for eqbm, T=M1gsinA=M2g
so sinA=M2/M1
