The two ends of a heavy rope of weight W are tied to two hooks A and B on opposite walls. The hooks are tied at the same horizontal level. If the rope makes angle θ with the walls at A and B, the tension T at the midpoint of the rope as well as the tension at A (or B).

Cut the chain from it's lowest point and draw the F.B.D of one half as shown. I am taking let theta = @ T'sin@=mg/2 T'cos@=T Therefore, T=(mgcot@)/2 ....... which is the tension at the mid point.
Now for the next part, u can solve on your own.
