Two piers A and B are located on a river ,one kilometer apart.TWO men
must make round trips from pier A to pier B and return . one man is to
row a boat at velocity of 4km/ hr relative to the water .and other man
is to walk on the shore at a velocity of 4km/hr .the velocity of river is
2km/hr.in the direction from A to B .How long does it take each man to
make a round trip ?

assuming A and B are on the same side....
THe walking man will take....2/4 hrs..=30min.
the man with the boat..for going...1/(4+2)hrs=10min.
the man with the boat...for returning...1/(4-2)hrs..30min
total...=40min.
