anyways thnx i gt the answer to ma question the object generaly does not rotate abt com it is just for the convience of caluclating the torque we do it
hey fr9ds long time i posted any question so here is 1
lets take a rod rotating abt a hinge so my question is around which pnt is the rod rotating abt its hinge or abt the com it can also be said to be rotating abt the com as the distance of evry pnt from the com is constant so the centre is com but if we apply dis conxept then if a rod is in free fall then also it is rotating abt com as its distacne remains constant what is the flaw in my argument

Rotation about Centre of mass is considered only when no fixed axis can be located perpendicular to the plane of rotation.
In this case it is clearly available ,so rotation is considered about hinge
