Which of the following statements is/are correct ?

(A) On superposition of waves (i) and (iii), a travelling wave having amplitude a√2 will be formed

(B) Superposition of waves (ii) and (iii) is not possible.

(C) On superposition of (i) and (ii), a stationary wave having amplitude a√2 will be formed

ya,
A,D r correct.....I din check all options, thought it was single correct choice.....

y denotes disp. along y-axis, while z along z axis, so dey r different na?

That hardly matters uttara - bcoz we can superimpose identical waves....

Ya Rahul & Soumik

I agree that qs is correct but how to prove d??

z1+z2=a[(sinwt-wx/v)+coswt+wx/v)

Use

SinC+cosD=2sin(C+D/2)cos(C-D/2)

Ya I made a mistake while doing this thats y i wanted to confirm
