A heavy mass m is tied through a pendulum in a railway train moving at a constant speed v. The carriage is brought to rest suddenly by a strong but uniform braking. Can the pendulum travel through 180° so that the taut reaches the vertical.

Google books has the full set of 200 questions.. but couldnt get hold of the solutions.. So i am having to bank on my instincts (I mean my methods.. cos i have no source to cross check)
3i think it cant be achieved,the relative velocity of the ball wrt is v0 opposite to its direction of moving,so it cant complete its circular path.
