1why will the particle perform SHM(or any kind of oscillations) when it is attached to a string on a horizontal surface ?
One end of an elastic string of natural length a and force constant λ/a is fixed to a point on a smooth horizontal surface vandvthe other end is attatched to aparticle of mass m lying on the surface. the particle is pulled from the fixed point to a distance 2a and released.Find the time for a complete oscillation of the particle.

111the string is elastic,therefore on extension it will cause the particle to come back to the original position(natural length).PLEASE SOLVE
