Does any body know the "Extra Force Method" to solve the spring pulley system.
And also I want to know if there is any other method to solve pulley problems(system containing a no of pulleys).
if yes then plz tell me.....
I dont know and have never heard of this.. (is it a name to somethign every commonly known?) That is what a lot of teachers do these days :D
Neways one method is work done by internal forces.. *tension generally..
bhaiyya using tension is da usual method.... but for a system containing a mass and four to five pulleys and an equal no of spring... it becomes quiet lengthy.... so i wanted to know a shorter method for these types of problems....

I think Rajat means that the motion of the pulley
would be due to the extra weight (m2-m1) which gives
the extra force.
I just heard this once somewhere; have no idea if there is some another method

I at last got it from one of my friend today
In this we folly 3 steps
1.First assume the body is already in equlibrium
2.Elongate one spring at a time and find it effect on the objects displacement.
3.Find the relation between the displacement of the object and the displacement of the spring.
hehe..this is not any special method dude..
this is normal method for solving shm questions
what about the method in which the length of string is considered constant
