Q) The rod of length L tied to two strings is lifted up a little distance and let go.
The situation just before the strings become taut is shown below.
the velocity of the rod is V at this instant.
Find Vcmand ω just after the string tightens

PS : the left string makes β with the vertical

32lgcosβ1+cosβ

if this is correct , let angular velocity be ω

then just put in 12 mv2 = 12 mvCOM2 + 12ml23 ω2

It think this one has something to do with instantaneous axis of pure rotation; which will be the the intersection point of the line produced through the threads..
