Embedding, or sticking together of the objects after collision signifies that the collision was perfectly inelastic in nature. In such inelastic collisions, kinetic energy is not conserved but momentum is.
KE is given away as heat or by some other form of energy loss.

in inelastic collision... only momentum is conserved.....and nt the kinetic energy... this energy is lost in the form of heat........
