unfortunately u r not eligible for appearing for bitsat-2010
as ur average in PCM is=72+69+95/3=78.67 which is less than 80[2].....so u keep trying for other examinations n other institutes[1]
and by the way do u have some reservation or some criteria for RELAXATION in the eligibility criteria???
And i am planning to give re evaluation for physics, as i expected more than 85, but its result will be known after may 24 th only, so should i appear for the exam??
u must appear for the exams.....bt at admission and counselling time u'll be considered only if ur avg. score in PCM will be above 80...but if u skip the xam then even if ur score will improve u cannt claim for any thing...so better to appear for xams...
It seems you don't believe me Moni..anyway I will write what I told to you.. again..
1. Apply for Reevaluation/recounting for PCM [ not just Physics..]
2.Go and confidently write BITSAT on 24th
3.Make sure that you are ready with the new scores [ if there is a change] before the counseling session which will be certainly after June 10th only .
Moni don't worry. I'm in the same position as you are. My maths marks are a joke...I was very much expecting 85 minimum. I was sure of my assertion. Instead I got 78, for reasons unknown to me. And my PCM aggregate thus comes below 80.
Give your BITSAT nevertheless. Try to score as much as you can. We'll see how the re-evaluation works out. There is nothing else we can do at present....
Do your duty without thinking of the result. Your duty is to study and score well in BITSAT. What comes afterwards is fate.
We're apparently crying so much on this. Let me tell you a little true anecdote about one of my relatives which my mom relayed to me.
He was the most brilliant student of his school. Topped in every school exam. Of course he was expected to top in his (West Bengal) boards as well.
What happened on the board results day changed his life forever. He had just given IIT in good spirits, and also attained his IIT result...he'd gotten a nice rank in the hundreds and thereabouts. But a rude shock awaited him on the boards result day...the score for Maths read "8".
He never recovered from it. Of course the paper was sent for re-evaluation, but it shut off his chances to go to IIT forever. When the paper came from re-evaluation, it was found that someone had forgotten to place an 8 after the 8. Turns out he was the topper of his school. It left a mental scar on him, and he had to be taken to a psychiatrist for therapy. His brilliance had been wasted.
He now works in a call center in Delhi....such is his fate. Just because of one digit gone wrong.
So this is my advice...whatever happens now, you will have to find a way to stand for yourself and earn in life. You cannot help it. You must be mentally strong, and say to yourself, whatever I get, I shall relish. Enjoy whatever you can get, for one day you may get nothing at all. Whenever you feel you cannot take it anymore, think about this poor guy who was grievously wronged, and had no fault of his own. Such is life.
I have given for re counting for PCM and my bits exam is on 24 th may, so any last minute tips and suggestions u guys can give me plz??
