Yes. It seems that Maths and Music is in the air around here.
Satyaki had missed the last two IMO tours by narrow margins.. I am happy that he ultimately made it this time. :)

And they never seem to miss having at least one perfect score. All six gold medalists is an incredible performance. Dongyi Wei who scored 42s in two consecutive IMOs (2008 and 2009) didnt even write the Chinese MO this year because he felt that these olympiads werent enough of a challenge any more. Heck, he must be God!
I was hoping to see some gold medallists from India. Akashnil has one more attempt next year and so that hope remains alive.
The 12 year old from Peru got a silver, so I will be rooting for a gold for this guy next year at Netherlands.

@ b555, that's not true, there are applicants from New Delhi, UP, AP, Mumbai and other states even in BSTAT course, so let alone B.MATH.....U cud have checked the list of people appearing for the entrance in ISI's website, and surprisingly I met a guy from HP this time.
Abt IMO, delighted to see our own friend from dgp this time representing India....
Well, what prophet sir said abt girl participants is in fact true, there are rarely from India, btw in mathlinks, there's already a few threads that are discussing the topics that might fare in the exam.....
Hats off to the genius team! Sure u'll bring pride for our nation....[124]

i say its becaus eother state guys arent given chance to write ISI and RMO`s are more infamous in such places
application dates and where they are sold come and go in a flash and mostly, even the capable ones loose the chance with no fault of theirs

pune has been a strong hold because of the coaching conducted by bjv himself.
Bengal has been a hub and stonghold for maths olympiad for long now....
Look at enrollments into ISI anyyear... More than 50% from bengal!
