JEE 2010 aspirants welcome!!!

HELLO GUYS!!! i would like to start this thread where everyone is free to contribute sensible topics and their analysis that is truly relevant for JEE 2010 .. i mean to say the things that we generally overlook, or areas where we commit unwanted but fatal mistakes,, important concepts and all that !!!!! EXPERTS are really welcome to this thread !!!!

i start with the fact that "we should study alcohols and carboxylic acids from organic chemistry in more details than aldehydes and ketones because these chapters are in good contention for a good chunk of the paper in 2010"...

........now continue guys!

Which IIT is making 2011's paper ?

does it really matter which iit makes the paper.. ??

As far as i knew there is a secret panel of 7 members in Delhi who makes the papers..the IITs take care of only the admission n other things.

it surely doesnt matter which iit makes paper..becoz u have to get it approved fro some sort of commitee which checks the difficulty level of paper,,edits the questions..checks it for time spent by average student per question..and lot s of other things....[1]

so dont worry who sets the paper..just prepare for it with ur full effort[1]

u mite get driven sick by what im telling for the rest of the 1 yr of ur prep.s,(listening to the same thing again and again), but whatever is gonna happen, who ever is gonna set the ppr, if u put in ur efforts, develope ur fundaes well..no one can stop u from cracking down this mountain in front of u..u can do it guyz..all the best..
cheers!!

lets discuss about the trends in the mathematics and physics papers (leaving out chemistry...its not much of a worry)........i mean the chapters that are in good contention this year!!!

Maths i dont think from coordinate geo.they will much stress on conic sections, instead they will lay more stress on str. lines and circle.

Ronald, The way I look at it, conic section is a relatively simple topic... (specially if you ghave done it once..) Dont ignore it.

u guys wont believe it..'
but last yr my instinct and some research told me that there would be a passage from salt analysis and one from matrices....
and it came in reality[6][6]

if u guys dont believe me ..u can ask nishant sir about it..becoz i told him about it in jan /feb [1]

yes even i had the instinct ( or a very desperate hope !)

1 that Assertion reasoning will be removed
2 Subjective type Qs with ans in digits ( like 123 , 25 etc )
3 a solvable matrix match in chem

1 and 2 came true !

i am sure 3 will come true for 2010

anyways see dont really mind of whos setting paper , what to study what not to study

jus study " EVERYTHING U CAN " in the jee portions
thats the only rule i followed

my instinct for 2010 is that

1 Assertion will never ever return ( its too ambiguous)

2 Matrix match be easier in chem , tuffer in maths
and match shud have less options

3 More subjective Qs

4 Negative marking in multiple choice correct will be removed ( it really hampered my ability to trust my instinct in chem )

Maths :- Since Kanpur is making the paper this time, obviously Calculus is goin to override Algebra, Co-ordinate, Trig & others blablabla....

Btw any idea when was the last time, IIT-Kanpur made the JEE paper?

ya thanks for ur very valuable advice cele,i shall revise them..they r really difficult to remember for a long time.

@nishant bhaiya- yes bhaiya i shall not.

A passage from waves is possible becoz there was absolutely nothng from it last yr

ya i was also thinking the same..passage on waves or thermodynamics

tis year o-chem and inorganic was major
look like time for physical nxt year

24
eureka123 ·

yeah .....chem will get tuffer next time..........
expect good problems in ionic and elec chem

Debotosh.. ·

does anybody in any aspect expect to get a subjective paper this year? that would be a mess!!!!!

9
Celestine preetham ·

no its never going to be a ful fledged subjective paper

profs wont have time to patiently evaluate 5 lakh papers

Celestine preetham ·

in 2010 chem i think theyll ask more from NCERT

guys not studying foreign books were at gr8 disadvatage this yr in chem

lets start discussing something about approaching the paper : cover the following :
(1) order of subjects to be attempted
(2) order of type of questions to be attempted .

my preference :(1) maths , physics , chemistry
(2) one option , comprehension , matrix , assertion reason/more than one, subjective (integer)type

It will be gr8, if org chem is not given much importance in JEE 2010, I'm not bothered abt maths, (i know I can manage it well), only thing that keeps coming in my nightmares are those peculiar (and cocky) Org chem reactions, I'd thank god, if Inorganic/Physical comes in abundance......I'm real messy in org chem.... My hopes in JEE :- Maths (Permutations, complex Nos, Trig, co-ordinate). Physics (Blah blah blah...) Chemistry (Physical, Inorganic)

order of section to be atmpted:Physics,Chemistry,Math
(becoz phy is always intermediate level..so u can score max in it..and after doing it u can do chem questions rapid fire if u r good...and in the end reserve about 1hr 15 min for math)

order of questions
matrix,single choice,comprehension,assertion reason/more thean one..
(becoz matrix dont have negative marking ..so u can gain confidence in xam by getting some quick fire marks within first 10 min)

well said eureka !!!!!!!!!
