1)there were more blunders in paper1
2)and JEE officials announced about ORS mistake only in second session.
so i dont think session 1 holds any imp ......it should be decleared null and void
also I agree with u ,that it was even worse than AIEEE.....THis si simply not the standard of worlds tuffest exam

In 1997 , paper wasnt leaked by majority....it was leaked by minority,still there was a re exam...
and here majority has been kept in dark about the rules....so there is a string case against them
and cancelling section2 wont help at all....I spent a lot of time on section2,trying out all of them genuinely...so who will give me that lost time ???
I didnt mark all the options like many did...but in some genuine ques i marked ,i am surprised i wont get any partial marks even...and I am not single one..tehre are many like me....

If CBSE can accept its mistake in class 12 math exam..and decide to give 6 grace marks..why isnt IIT coming forward & accepting tis mistake ???

21whoa!!!!!!! looks like a many share the view of of re-examination and it does not seem a case of "sour grapes" because if it had been the case then it would not have raised so many eyebrows. but yes, re-exam seems a far-fetched idea and iit would take such a drastic step only as a face-saving tactic........

24since sunday...had a lot of anger withing me for what happened in hall,and across india...wanted to know who takes the responbility for all this....reexam also on mind...but as the day draws to close,sad reality of modern india comes in front of me....no one will take responsiblity and nthing is gonna happen in this case....this paper was a historic blunder but no one will come forward to take resposiblity.......still hoping for a miracle to happen....

You guys have to first stop being angry at IIT. I know and absolutely agree to all the goof ups that they have made.. I am not at all going into that...
I am only going into the possibility of what lies further.
THink of the situation when there is a re exam.. That means that atleast 3-4 months extra. Which means IIT sessions will start with a delay of 3 months minimum. That is never going to happen.
About professionalism... if the JEE board at IIT M had any shame at all they would not have messed so much at the first place and brought down the exam.
About what you should do from here: Just study for the remaining exams and dont get overboard. It is India and here things dont change that easilty.
Unless there is a high court order or something of that order which asks iits to have a re exam, there is no way by which they will voluntarily have the exams again.

if u darken alll the buubles u will not get any marks unless all the options are correct
u will get the marks only to the options corresponding to the correct answers given that u have not darken any wrong answer.
there will no re-exam at any cost

If at all u are gonna get some bull-sheet-rubbish marking scheme out of the muggy heads of the JEE council, then they cud have taken the pain to atleast mention it then and der in the paper. they didn't do that - now 2 top it, they say they are gonna eleminate those guys who marked all the options and not give credits to those who ticked even a single wrong option....feel like giving a solid kick on the face of the council members. WHAT DA HECK OF PARTIAL MARKS????

Rank of 100 at around 375

106raja... go look up the aops .. india forum... almost all ppl der (active members who gave JEE) got abv 290 .... in JEE (acc. to various sols available online)
maths was not super tough at all...(of course it is tough if u go all out to find a METHOD to solve). (a little bit of option elimination helped a lot)

maths was not as difficult as many of you are trying to suggest.. It was difficult no doubt.. but maths paper has always been difficult.
What is the fuss if there are a couple of olympiad type problems.. (they are very much in the syllabus)
I am not suggesting that the paper was well made.. The paper was the least professional paper i have ever seen.. Even my papers are far better when i prepare them in the last minute with very little time and energy spent on the coverage and details..... It is a shame that the JEE council did not have a way or a person who could examine the paper before it went ot print.
1IN MY OPINION IF MATHS PAPER HAD NOT BEEN TOUGH (AS IT WAS),, PEOPLE COULD EASILY GOT THEMSELVES ABOVE 350 OR SO....!
SO IT WAS A GOOD PAPER AT LAST TO SELECT A FEW THOUSAND OUT OF NEARLY FIVE LAKH CANDIDATES...!!
23i think we cant question the difficulty level of the paper , bcz no where in the brochure have they mentioned that they wont ask sums of above class 12 level .
but i was dissapointed with the rough work space given , and also abt the fact that paper wasnt much conceptual ,
those who just knew the formulas by heart would hav cracked most of the problems especially in physics.
Also, they could hav done something better , if they really wanted to select the best 5000 among the 5,00,000.
for instance , in that gravitation sum of a ring with inner and outer radius 3R and 4R , they gav option A and B as same , but just with a difference of signs.To fir ans to A aur B me se hi hona tha ,LOL , they tried to confuse us with signs
and since ans was +ve so i marked A , without applying any concept .

If the schools cant teach properly , the parents are ready to pay for the classes , who atleast teach well.

I think they shud change the system completely . If they really want us to focus more on schools , they shud keep the schools mainly for physical education i.e sports . They can become good only in that.
Jisko jo sikhana ata hai use wahi karne do yaar , mere school me to hamara PT sir english sikhata tha , who himself was 10th fail .
