@Abhishek : " "that would eliminate all those students who say they were a prey of faulty paper...many ppl critisize d ppr just bcoz they did not score well n so find an excuse 4 not doing well... " "
What's this ???
U think only those ppl who did not write well want re exam
Do have any idea abt JEE councilling
U know ur rank can go down by many 100's just by a few marks and make u loose ur desired marks
I am a 300 scorer and i wud have easily got 25 more if there was no time waste in omr and
partial marking instructions were more clear !!!!

Sorry to say, but The thread has clearly lost its real motive....
and to all those who say "loosers want re exam "....just want to say this to shut their mouth[16]
'It is better to be defeated on principle than to win on lies'
its not gonna help much even if someone score full marks in a controversial paper...becoz rules werent same for all..
nthing more to say...
** sorry if i hurt someone....but that looser comment was too much to hear after 3 yrs of work ..sorry again [1]

@IIT….if u think u r d only 1 who got around 25 marks less, then u r wrong…I’m also getting 290..cud have easily got 25 more…but then thats our mistake…we’re 2 be blamed 4 it…after 2 yrs of coaching in India’s leading coaching institute, I’ve learnt that there’s no point in saying that I could have got more marks bcoz of this n that…I also used 2 say that earlier, but slowly each test taught me that I’m not the only 1 who’s suffering bcoz of petty things…in d end no1 will listen 2 ur xcuses…u shud know how 2 curb these mistakes b4 d exam…n not keep lamenting over them l8r n ask for a re-xam…
N that OMR prob was for all…I did not waste any time on that…marked d answers on ques paper n on d omr l8r wen the correct instructions were given…n partial marks thing was 4 all…n i don’t think there was any doubt in that…u just had 2 do the ques correctly n leave d marking on IITs…if u did d ques correctly, u will be awarded full marks!!! Why worry about partial marks…u shud aim at getting it 100% correct… after all d toppers are getting in 400s…was d paper different 4 dem?
Now tell me wat was wrong in d paper??? If u r a topper n aim 2 get every ques fully correct(n not partially) u wont have any prob… PLZ DO RESPOND IF U STILL HAVE ANY PROB IN THE PAPER…

its jus a waste of time discussing our problems here, they(iits) are not gonna visit this forums to find out our problems(and they really dont wnt to do so ).The only way out now is, to contact the media persons and bring out the original size of this issue (@ iitm chairman who thinks it were jus minor mistakes) and blunders committed by them.otherwise mr t.s natrajan(the organising chair man of iit jee 2010) is going to wrap up the problem without bringing out seriousness of the issue by sacrificing the lives of thousands of iit aspirants this year.

Being a dropper i was also little frustrated but what can be done, today i counted
my total getting around 260,not feeling any happiness because i wanted to show my dad at least 350 marks.but it's all cosy that i m not getting 150 like last year i did.For everybody i wanna say that exam was difficult or easy it was for wall, that's competition and u can't complain for less rough paper etc...Whatever happens ,happens for good.Good wishes to all.....jee 2010 aspirants

@ ekta ,we too are also not complaining that paper was tough or easy ........(however the standard was not of an iit level), but we dont care for that , cause its their right to test us in any way . but the point is, that most of us here din't got a fair chance to showcase our knowledge, few of us got fallen to the wrong instructions and many others to the printing mistake in the omr sheet .( and i was also one among them).
And we are just asking for a fair chance , we are asking for a re exam.
and in my case,am too a dropper and in the same way how u did, i too wanted to show my father a rank <300, which i really don't think is gonna happen now (though i worked really hard, but all in vain).
and jus don wanna write the whole story here (but seriously got hit due to their mistakes).and am feeling so frustrated now............got into the state of depression, and can't even concentrate at any other thing. every time i think of it and tears roll out my eyes)
I know all of you here are not that unlucky as am. But plzz think of people who got a serious blow due to all these missunderstandings and who all got their papers messed up just for non of their mistakes.
@ ekta ,yeah you are right that we all had to solve the same questions and there's no reason to be get biased here, but many of us got biased due to the information or the right instructions supplied to us ,people like you got informed timely and didn't have to pay much bigger price but people like me (got the information just 3 or 4 minutes b4 the end of the 1st session and i ended messin up my paper ... and the motherf@$#%& didn't even gave us a single min more to rectify the omr sheet.) ...............................................................................................................and that's the reason why we have to shout now.
and i really think, that the only way in which they could justify us is by conducting a reexamination .(don't you think so).

Hi
The fact is that the paper really had several flaws in it- no doubt of that. There have been occasions where JEE violated its own syllabus. On top of that the OMR issue plus the partial marking system. There is nothing but one way out: a re-exam.
Now, for those who think I am a loser at JEE 2010 trying to get another chance, let me tell you I am not a candidate, I am an instructor. Even some of my bright students have scored above 300. Some even didn’t pay heed to what subject was printed on the OMR, they answered according to the question number. Some who were more vigilant asked the examiner about it. I am not concerned about those who did well in the exam as if a re-exam is taken, they would do again well. But I have serious concerns for those who wasted at least five minutes to rectify what they should do- mark the questions according to number or OMR heading.
All of you, even those who scored well will agree that 5 minutes is really a big deal! If you get two questions correct in five minutes- u have 6 more marks, which can make a lot of difference if you are in the mediocre zone. I have already sent a mail requesting re-conduction of the examination to the JEE authorities. Many of my colleagues have. Even the CM of Bihar has written personally for this to the Ministry of Human Resource Development. I suggest to those who want a fair game- to request the JEE authorities via e-mail. The more requests they have, the more pressurized they would be to take actions.
In hope of making India a top technical nation,
RS Zaidi

Most of us are disappointed in JEE.
We should try to fix this. Lets file a PIL each. It wouldnt cost you much say 100 rupees at max. and now its easy as it can be done online:
Just goto this website and e-filing
http://supremecourtofindia.nic.in/
And please do mention all the discrepancies in the paper.
I am providing a list. You may add to it.
1. OMR Subject heading
2. Some questions out of syllabus specified on brochure(some people would say it was for all the candidates. But what is the fault of those who strictly studied according to syllabus)
3. Questions lengthy and tough, tested mugging ability (some sort of MSc. Exam type)
4. Most Important- No space for rough work
5. Unclear Instructions regarding partial marking pattern
6. No timely instructions given on how to attempt paper: question number wise or subject heading wise
7. Hindi format had printing errors
8. Partial Marking blunder

breaking news
The alleged discrepancies in the Mathematics paper of the Indian Institute of Technology joint entrance exam and a PIL filed by a professor has led to the Delhi High Court issuing a notice to the centre.
A bench headed by acting chief justice Madan B Lokur bench asked the government, IIT Council and its admission board to explain what and how irregularities occurred while conducting the IIT JEE. The IIT JEE 2010 exam was held on 11th April, 2010 and saw 4.72 lakh students appearing for it.
The PIL was filed by Rajeev Kumar, a computer science professor of IIT Kharagpur, who questioned the year-to-year uniformity of the IIT JEE and also claimed that the IITs provide back door entries to students. It was on his plea that the court took on the probe against the IITs.
“The current system, which is infected with serious established discrepancies and irregularities, cannot be allowed to continue,†said advocate Prashant Bhushan, who filed the PIL on behalf of Rajeev Kumar. He also said that an additional SIT probe should be directed into the irregularities, tampering and fraud in the conduct of the IIT JEE.
Kumar claims that he has evidence declaring the fraud in IIT JEE as he knows of students with 279 marks who were rejected while students with only 154 marks declared qualified for admission in the IITs. He also questioned the non-existence of a criterion for fixing cut off marks and the non-availability of a model answer paper.
