(1888PressRelease) March 25, 2008 - TargetIIT.com is a start-up by 5 IITians from IIT Kharagpur, aimed at supporting students preparing for IIT-JEE, AIEEE and other Engineering Entrance Exams. It will provide IIT JEE tests and study material to students absolutely free. It aims at bring together all the students preparing for IIT JEE. TargetIIT.com boasts of an all IITian team. The founders have foregone their lucrative job offers and even IIM calls for this start-up.

The site is currently in its test-run. The final release is proposed to match with the IIT JEE date. The portal will provide free councelling to all the Members. They will conduct workshops across the country at very nominal charges on various topics.

The founding members are Nishant Sah, Lokesh Verma, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, Manish Shankar and Abhishek Goel. They had good opportunities form IITs. Nishant had interview calls from IIM Bangalore and Indore. His percentile rank in CAT was 99.98 which is in the top 50 ranks of the country. Lokesh Verma has a very good job offer from Thought Works. Akhilesh has two offers, one from Reliance Industries and another from Deloitte. Abhishek Goel had an MS call from Texas Austin (This is the best in Rapid Prototyping in the world) and a job offer from ZS Associates!
When asked, about their decision to start this portal, they said that they wanted to chase their dream. They believe that the students are exorbitantly charged by the coaching institutes across country. They hope to provide quality education to the thousands of people across the country making use of technology at a much cheaper rate. They think that they can easily reduce the cost of learning to less than half of what is charged at the present.
