@KRI... d events aren't related to d bags... it's related to d experiment...

i got set 2...

wat is d correct answer to the probability(6 marks) question?

@maddybaddie... y dun u post d question in d forum... evry1 will have a luk at it... :)

maddybaddie ·

sure...

Coloured balls are distributed in three bags :

Colour of Ball
Black White Red

Bag I : 2 1 3

Bag II : 4 2 1

Bag III : 5 4 3

A bag is selected at random and then two balls are randomly drawn from the selected bag. They happen to be white and red. What is the probability that they came from bag II ?

sum1 pls post the solution...

i'm getting d answer as 110/397 ...

see if my method is correct...!!!

A - Event dat d balls are drawn from bag II

B - Event dat d drawn balls are red n white...

P(A/B) = P(A∩B) / P(B)

= (1/3 x 2/7 x 1/6) / [1/3 {(1/6 x 3/5) + (2/7 x 1/6) + (4/12 x 3/11)}] = 110/397

wrong...!!! see post #48...

Celestine preetham ·

its 110/551 damn sure abt it

btw my set asked white red

1
The Scorpion ·

well, can u point d mistake in my solution celestine...!!???

use combination for the individual probabilities mak :)

1
The Scorpion ·

yeah got it... thanx... :) ........ n sorry...

dis is d expression...

P(A/B) = (2C1x1C1/7C2) / [(1C1x3C1/6C2) + (2C1x1C1/7C2) + (4C1x3C1/12C2)] = 110/551

palani ............... ·

very very easy

par meine ek 6 mark ka galat kar ke aagaya

Celestine preetham ·

paper was quite short i got set 2

made a stupid mistake 3 + 7 + (1 X0) = 11

otherwise ok got rest of the ans

ANKIT MAHATO ·

@sriraghav

3 -2 8
-4 3 -12
3 -2 9

Adj A =
3 -4 3
-2 3 -2
8 -12 9

det A = 3*3 - 8
= 1

A-1 = Adj A / det A =
3 -4 3
-2 3 -2
8 -12 9
