how can (1,2) represent the curves of two material at same intensity
the book says because stopping potential is same in both the cases

my argument: as the materials are different hence the work functions will be different hence the max kinetic energy fore the two materials will be different hence the stopping potential will be different (all this inspite of frequency being the same as thresh hold frequency for the two materials is different

No not 1,2

I mean (2,4) & (1,3)

how can it be 1,3 and 2,4

reason:
for same intensity how can two different materials have same saturation current?

@Ishan : Only Intensity is same not V no

But anyway I'll come back to this after revising this topic once
