Why does the characteristic spectrum(they occupy the peaks) have more relative intensity than Continous spectrum?Secondly why does Kalpha occupy a higher peak than Kbeta whereas the energy gap in the latter case is more?

well, a peak in energy diagram implies that there are more number of particles possesing the same amt of energy.
the larger amt of energy the higher the peak.
