lo ek aur formula........[3][3]..main yahan formula se bachne ki soch raha hoon aur tu ek aur bata raha hai.....[9]

Q photobromination of 2methyl propane gives mixtuere of 1bromo 2 methyl propane and 2 bromo methyl propane in ratio 9:1
Ans False
Explaination:Ratio of 2 products is determined by this formula
1bromo 2 methyl propane No. of 1° H * Reactivity of 1° H
____________________ =__________________________
2 bromo methyl propane No. of 2° H * Reactivity of 2° H
my doubt..........do we need to remeber this formula??????????[7][7][7]

i dont think u have to remember the formulae but u should know the trick behind it
and this reactivity ratios depends upon the temperature also so there is no need to mug up the values but u should know the relative reactivity and i think that will do
your wish, but ya yeh jaise usne kaha gk hain. mostly people know this. its given everywhere.
main bhi samjh raha hoon uski bhavna........par ratio yaad karne se kaam nahin banega......[2][2]
mujhe bhi samajh nahin aaya................aise to hazar ratio yaad karne padenge...........[3][3][3]
yes . i think this is the only one formula to be remembered in the chapter alkanes.
this is not a formula.....its just what u call GK ........
n u shud no dat reactivity is 1:82:1600
Gr8 shubhas...
JEE always gives an escape for non formula based students... [3]
well if u know the principle
then bromination is less reactive and more selective
so ratio should favour the more selective product since itz true or false exact values not required
ok........but how to attempt it without formula?????i mean to say is there any other crude method to predict this ratio...not exactly but around the same value?[7][7][7]
not exactly but well yes
but the selectivity reactivity principle should be remembered
