Towards Electrophilic addition reaction ---
R-CCH + E+ ---> R-C+=CH-E (vinylic carbocation)
R-CHCH2 + E+ --->R-C+-CH2-E (alkyl C+ )
Apparently alkynes may seem more reactive but alkene is more reactive as alkyl carbocation is more stable than vinyl carbocation.
Hydrogenation occurs simply via chemizorption,,more the Î e- density,,more the chemizorption,,therefore alkynes are more reactive in this case.
