why do u want sn2...alc koh is not meant for sn2 ! the sn2 products would , however , be prop 2 ene 1,2diol
1,2 dichloro propane+(alc.)KOH------->??
this question was posted quite earlier,but i want to revive the disscussion

why not ? then you mean to say that a cumulated system is stabler than a triple bond ?????

i thought that ALC. KOH will attack the unhindered carbon first and then the answer would be 2 chloroprop-1-ene!!!
think abt it.......or whats ur logic???

alc KOH prefers E1 reaction mechanism thereby going for the more stable carbocation !
