yups....trans is correct.....2 bulky groups on the same side implies nothing other than STERIC HINDRANCE.......acc when,in organic chem u dont kno the specific reason for particular end product or particular orientation,rely on stric factors....atleast i use this concept....handy at times.....

its trans. In cis isomer,two same groups are in same plane.thus there's more chance of steric hindrance.but in trans,same groups are at opp. plane,which minimises the chances of steric hindrance
