Simply Decarboxylation takes place in all compunds having a -COO(Pr) group.here Pr means any proton like H to give alkanes and Ag the Hundsdiker Reaction

Decarboxylation simply helps us to remove CO2 from the compound once it is removed we get the products .Simply any molecule having -COO can be decarboxylated

decarboxylation can occur in the following class of compounds:

(1)β-keto esters

(2)1,1 dicarboxylic acids( generally called "LAMNAC" rule)

(3)β,γ unsaturated acids

additional note: decarbonylation (-CO) occurs in the case of α-keto esters or α-keto acids.

LAMNAC rule : it simply states that 1,1 dicarboxylic acids yield CO2 on simple heating or even under ordinary conditions.
