3find the electrostatic potential energy of the structure in case if the structure has charge separation,higher the potential energy of the structure lower will be the stability of the structure so its contribution to resonance hybrid is also less.
I was taught that while drawing the resonating structure, the structure which has more charge separation has more energy. Please explain this.
I thought that energy decreases with increase in separation
