BT AS FAR as i knw LiAlH4 is reducin this jst coz it's phenyl ring attachd der.
and for NaBH4 will definately reduce dis coz der's conjugation of single ,double bond.
nebdy who finds ne other valid reason ,do post it
wat will d pdt of
C6H5CH=CHCHO
reactd wid LiAlH4 and NaBH4
xplain ur answr wid reason.
yes both will react and reduce BOTH the double bond and aldehyde group
(1) lithium aluminium hydride is known to reduce all groups....hence not much of thinking !!
(2) sodium borohydride generally reduces only aldehyde group to alcohol.....but due to high mobility of the double bond in the cinnamyl system, this weak reducing agent will also reduce the double bond here along with the aldehyde group as usual !!!

lithium aluminium hydride has no special reason of reduction here.....it reduces all groups....very strong reducing agent !
