why? because its structure is not planar.
So delocalisation is not possible here.
Hence non-aromatic

10-annulene and 14-annulene are not aromatic

Nopes..the given compound in NOT aromatic. Reason is non-planarity.
The two carbons which are closest together (in the middle part of the compound) also have H atoms attached. These two hydrogens repel each other resulting in distortion in structure.
The given compounnd is non-aromatic. At the first sight, it does the satisfy the 4n+2 rule but it is not planar. So it is not aromatic
no exception!!!!
non-planar straight away from the figure!!!!!
reason:::::HINT:::::the steric hinderance[GUESS WHERE AND HOW??????]
I HOPE I HAVE GIVEN ENOUGH HINT FOR IT BEING NON-PLANAR!!
If its an annulene, then it has ring strain.Although huckels rule is satisfied, since it is sterically hindered and has a strained ring,it is forced out of planarity.thus it is not aromatic.
