any explaiantion why LiALH4 would react with ester part only and not with aldehde part on the other side ??

is that an aldehyde... i thot it was OCH3

hey ..the answer is LiALH4 as NaBH4 doesnt reduce esters as it is very selective n less reactive...[given in arhant:)]

thasts not aldehyde in 32 last substrate...thats ethere CH3-O-PH....
