1)Oxiranes are less stable. hence possibility of a acid catalyzed cleavage leading to glycol is high.otherwise tautomerisation gives ketone..then H+..what is the answer?
2)HIO4 causes oxidation.giving di carbonyl compound.the C-C bond between two carbon holding two OH group will break.. and -OH will be oxidised to =O.
