React Chlorobenzene with Mg in presence of THF , then the aryl grignard reagent will be formed

Then do it's hydrolysis , [ react with H30+ ]

@diveshdc, u forgot to mention the conditions - they have to be vigorous to break partial double-bond character!

the industrial process used is DOW'S process , which uses high pressure and temperature to break carbon-halogen bond that has partial double bond character !

1) Mg in presence of ether, to form Grignard Reagent
2)React GR with CO2/H3O+ to form benzoic acid
3)React benzoic acid with NaOH/CaO to obtain benzene.

Also, as debo says, you can use Dow's process to convert chlorobenzene to aniline and then proceed. [Hint : Use diazonium salt, reduce it.]

after diazotisation,we should use phosphoric acid !
