phenol rxn ??

IIT JEE 2015 Guidance › Organic Chemistry questions › phenol rxn ??

Does phenol react with NaHCO₃ ?
I thought it did not but then in a text book called Bahl & Bahl they showed a rxn where it reacted with Sodium bicarbonate to form sodium phenoxide and water ??

as per my knowledge phenol doesn't react wid NaHCO3 bt reacts wid NaoH to form sod. phenoxide and gives water.
