Why the order of reactivity of halogens in halogenation of alkanes is:
F2 > Cl2 > Br2 > I2
Plzz explain with full details.....

Cl2 is more reactive than Br2 in halogenation of alkanes as Br radical is stable and do not react very fast it is selective whereas the Cl radical is very reactive.
In case of Chlorine a large number of products are formed whereas in case of bromine only one major product is formed.
