Write the type of R-S configuration of the following compounds .....

The first one is indeed S. But in the second, note that the hydrogen group, being of lowest priority, has to be away from the observer and not towards. Hence we flip over the compound so that the hydrogen group is farthest away (dashed line). Then we use the normal convention and we will find the config to be S again.
One way of doing this(flipping) is to hold one group attached to the chiral carbon atom as reference and flip the other groups around this group, one time anticlockwise or one time clockwise. Then we use the usual rules.
