Strange doubt

Aldehyde/ketone + HX → No reaction.

Why?

Becoz X- is a good leaving group.
If the addition rxn takes place, the equilibrium highly favours backward reaction, thus giving no yield of product.

Aldehyde RCHO+HX→ if occurs O acquires -ve charge so it gets H so Alcohol but the X cannot go and combine with the +ve charged C same for a ketone
