the QUES.. no. of cyclic and stereo
so ur supposed to count the cyclic structures (inclusive of whatever stereo isomers that may arise)
If the question was all isomers. then shreyan's answer would have been correct
The total number of cyclic structures as well as stereo isomers possible for a compound with the molecular formula C5H10 is

@Manish Sir
What is wrong with alkenes shown by Shreyan
@UTTARA
6,7,8 check carefully
Answer is 7
The 5 structural isomers are
1. cyclopentane
2. methylcyclobutane
3. 1,1-dimethylcyclopropane
4. ethylcyclopropane
5. 1,2-dimethylcyclopropane
For 5.
If 5 is cis-isomer then 6 will be trans
if 5 is D-isomer(optical) then 7 will be its mirror image(L-isomer)
@Tapas : 6 7 8 have 13 hydrogens but given C5H10
so they r wrong !!!!!!!!
@Shreyan : ( U must have got this by now)
But ure 6 7 8 r wrong ( Count the no of H's)
No there is no general formula...u have to draw the structures...
btw for official answers by the IIT u may see this
http://www.iitd.ac.in/jee/
is der ne general formula or we have to simply count by drawing the structure
