i cannot understand the question at all !
...please elaborate !!!
...i am also unable to understand the word here, "nd a pressure".......what are they ?
each of the mixtures listed below was placed in a closed container & allowed to stand . which of the following mixtures is not capable of attaining the equilibrium : CaCO3-----CaO + CO2 ??
A) pure CaCO3
B) CaO nd a pressure of CO2 greater than Kp
C) some CaCO3 nd a preesure of CO2 greatre than Kp
D) CaCO3 nd CaO........

see it is RC mukherjee qurestion ch-chemical equilibrium pg - 514 objective question 40...and yes the answer is c....
"nd a pressure"---maeans " and a pressure"
Ans should be C
as initially CaCO3 and CO2 are there as CaCO3 dissociates CO2 thus CO2 increases .
also due to backward reaction CO2 decreases but net CO2 should remain greater than CO2 at equlibirum .
but equilibrium mixture cannot be attained.
