if the complex looks like
[Co(NH3)4Br2]+ then there will be no optical isomerism could u be more specific in showing the coordinate sphere
actually question is like this only...question says to count no. of isomers..surely there will be ionisaton isomerism ...but i am not sure about optical...
not always for example only the cis isomer of the form [MX2(en)2] shows optical activity.
well, eure,i don't think this compound will show optical isomerism. its true that the octahedral complexes
having bidentate groups usually show optical isomerism and this compound too has coordination number - 6.
but,the ion Co[(NH3)4 Br2]+ ion wouldn't have any enantiomeric form.
rather it will show geometrical and ionisation isomerism.
tahts what i thought and forced me to put up question here
RSM says taht it will show ionisation and optical isomerism[7]
But what if complex is [Co(NH3)4BrCl]Br? Then optical isomerism is also possible . Please validate this point
