DEPENDS ON DA COMPOUND......

IT IS DA pH at which da compound in question wen treated 2 electrolysis does not drift toward either of the electrodes...... n jus below or beyond that pH it will move towards the respective electrod.......

it's the avg of pKa1 and pKa2

i.e of the acid part and amino part.

16 out of 20 acids have pH≈7
Aspartic acid ,Glutamic acid have pH≈3
Lysine and Agrinine have pH≈10.........This is the easies way to remeber..........[1]

They are carboxylic pKa and amine pKa
for amino acid with only one amine and one carboxyl group

Aspartic acid ,Glutamic acid have pI≈3 they have -ve side chain charge
Lysine,Histidine,Arginine have pI>7 they are +ve

all others are neutrals and are in the range 5 to 6.5

if carboxylic pKa and amine pKa are given then pI can be calculated
