Now that's very interesting -- a section for physics Olympiad. It opens another world to us. At least, there would be a bit less restriction as to the nature of problems that ppl can discuss over here. Good work Nishant sir.
Without much ado, here's a problem.
Using the speed of the surface waves propagating in water and the speed of sound waves in water, estimate the size of water molecules. It is known that the speed of the surface waves of wavelength 1 cm is approximately 10 000 times smaller than that of sound in water.

I knew this was going to be a Kaymant sir favorite :) [1]
I only wish there was someone as good here for chemistry... At one point i thought that i would myself take up the challenge to study chemistry.. but then there is hardly any time left from studying mathematics and physics.. there is so much to explore in both these worlds [1][2][3][4]
aaaahhhh......anant sir....what a chapter to start with!!!! WAVES WAVES WAVES !!!!!could have given anything else on earth...but why waves ????//?/ ye kya hai??//
see yesterday .... i was trying to prove the speed of wave in longitudnal waves by convential methods i think.... thats the method kaymant sir ....... if not pls guide
