A itself is wrong....but an aldol cyclization does come later :P

No.. A is correct...but it is mostly wrong. The general idea is correct however. But after LDA it all goes wrong. PCl5 has other uses, apart from nucleophilic substitution.
In addition the group you have substituted doesn't exist when you try to substitute it.
