1tan 20 has a value less than 1 as we know that tan 45 =1 therefore angles lesser than it have a value less than 1
for 1/2*cos 20 the value is surely less than 0.5 as cos 0=1 0.5cos 0 is also less than 0.5 therefore the ans is less than 1

is that tan20 ≠tan20°. tan20 means 20 is in radian.
