But I think his failure to control Riots in Gujarat is good enough for me to not consider him at all..

for me congress made one mistake that was Reservation.

see the indian law is that every religion has its own laws
The Muslim personal law board frames some laws
Some are applicable for Hindus.. The most common one is that (HUF) it is the hindu undivided family.
The common civil court virtually strips all religions to have their individual laws
Some of it is already now applicable.. But I dont see too much merit in a common civil law.
The thing is that no common civil law makes India such a unique country.
There flip side, .. The makers of the constitution had thought that they will do away with the individual laws of religions and castes with time.. But that cannot be done even today.. Even then they had difficulties to do it.

Well he can have Vibrant Gujarat Summit . During the course of two days, 8662 MoUs worth US$ 243 billion (over Rs. 12,000 Billion) were signed.
Now since they have lost their jobs they have to shift to farming for their livelihood.
Even many big industries established in Gujarat announced large MoUs but they don't have the money to pay their employees.
as per the statistics of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics of the Government of Gujarat, the GDP growth of the state for 2006-07 was just 8.11 percent, which was well below the national average of 9.4 percent.
Gujarat one of the highest indebted states of the country, with an outstanding debt of around Rs. 20, 000 per person.
Gross Public Debt of the State was an estimated Rs. 66925.83 crore, which was 30.89 percent of the GDP
When Modi took over as the Chief Minister in October 2000, the outstanding debt of the State was Rs. 344.5 billion (34450 crores) Gujarat today is the worst indebted state in the country. The average per capita in Gujarat is over 21,000. The debt of the government is Rs. 69 crore. The State is now paying Rs. 6242 crores as interest per year. These are official figures of the Gujarat Government
