@ Ram
i also said that...[1]anyway

see the resistivity is high..

dotn confuse it with resistance...

If resistance is high, it will reduce the power efficiency of houses..

Do you think people will want to pay "double" bill just to protect a few equipments???

It will be of no use then! the cost involved will be the same... specially in times 10 years back when theere were no computers ;)

u don worry... blame is on joule....not on u..coz he has given equations in which heat proportional to R in one case(considerin current ind circuit) and heat inversely proportional in another case(considerin voltage in d circuit)..

well wat i think now is that low resistance has to be there to allow flow of current

i think wire will break due to increased amount of current itself

as H=I2RT

and H proportional to sq of current . ( so current will be more effective )

but some1 do correct me if i m rong [7][7]

high hi hoga

as if it will be low to allow the flow of current then wat will be the difference btwn a fuse wire and conducting copper wire

DATS WAT I SAID .... LOW RESISTANCE WIRE LL ALLOW IT TO PASS.. SO IT CANNOT BE USED...

MOREOVER FRM JOULES LAW HEAT IS PROPORTIONAL TO RESISTANCE....

SO HIGH RESISTANCE WIRE MELTS EASILY..

high current should not be allowed to pass....

the use of fuse is just that....

at high current it must generate heat n melt down ...break circuit

@ ABHI..

HW CLD IT BE????

FUSE WIRE IS MEANT TO STOP HIGH CURRENT .. IN SUCH A CASE , WHEN A CONSIDERABLE AMT OF CURRENT IN A CIRCUIT INCREASES SUDDENLY LOW RESISTANCE WIRE LL ALLOW IT TO PASS ....

SO A WIRE WIT HIGH RESISTANCE N LOW MELTIN POINT IS USED ..

i think Karan u r right

karan9989 gupta ·

sorry in the solution its given low resistance so as to allow easy flow of current I also think the resistance should be high

Pavithra Ramamoorthy ·

VIRANG BHAI.. IT HAS LOW MELTIN POINT BUT HIGH RESISTANCE.....

Pavithra Ramamoorthy ·

HIGH RESISTANCE IS RIT...

high resistance

and low melting point
