The bar buckles as a result of a temp rise of 32 deg c. l₀=3.77m and alpha=25x10^-6.Find x.(the bar buckles exactly at the center)

wat do you mean by bar buckles? Does it break or join

L = 3.77(1+25*10^-6*32)
L = 3.77 + 3016*10^-6
L = 3.77+0.003016
L = 3.773016
Now the length between the two big bar remain same=3.77
Since the bar breaks at 3.77/2
Therefore Increase in length in half bar is 0.001508
x² + 1.885² = (1.885 + 0.001508)²
x² = 0.001508² + 2*1.885*0.001508
x² = 2*1.885*0.001508
x² = 3.77*0.001508
x² = 0.0056815
x = 0.0754
