62as such there is no hard and fast method...
basically u need to know all the tricks...
how do u know all the tricks? only one way: PRACTICE
take a book.. any standard one.. and solve all the different kind of problems.. no use trying to solve alll problems of a book...
u need to shortlist the problems that are different...
btw on that note, i wud also say that one way is to express the kth term in terms of k. once you have done that take the summation using standard summations like we knwo the summation of k, k2, k3... in many many problems, this will suffice.
But sometimes, this will make the problem longer than you want it to be :(
But then if one asks for a general way, this is probably the only general way!
