HOW DO WE DETERMINE A WHETHER A POLYNOMIAL f(x) < 0 or not

{WITHOUT USING GRAPHS !!!!!!!!!)

I MEAN IF V CONSIDER A QUAD EQN THEN f(x) > 0 if a>0 & D <0

& reverse for f(x) < 0

Is this condition true always ???????????

In all quadratic equations???????????????

yes of course , this condition is valid for all quadratic equations (with real coefficients )

and yes conditions for f(x)<0 are not reverse. they r a<0 and D<0

and there is no hard and fast rule as to find wether a polynomial is less than 0 or not. it depends on the polynomial u r working with and the particular interval in which u r interested

Thanks Bhargav

But I have a prob with this

" and yes conditions for f(x)<0 are not reverse. they r a<0 and D<0 "

R U sure I somehow remembered it the other way ???? ( a<0 D>0)
