S1S2S3......S16

are 16 players playing in a tennis tournament

no of ways to form teams for doubles is

Ans) first two players can be selected from among the 16 players in 16C2 ways, second from remaining 14C2 ways and similarly the rest.........

Dividing it by 8! because here since we are selecting, order of the teams doesn't matter.

So the answer I think is,

(16C2 x 14C2 x 12C2 x 10C2 x 8C2 x 6C2 x 4C2 x 2C2)/ 8! = 2027025

Not sure if its correct or not, I only gave a try.

Sorry I need to divide it by 8! because in combination the order does not matter.

Sum for Subho:

1. In how many ways can a deck of playing cards can be arranged so that no two hearts are adjacent.

One from other topic

2. 25 boys/girls are seated on a round table. Show that both the neighbours of at least one students are both girls. (Lucky he is!!)
