y = 2|x| - cos(Î x)
x2+ 2=2|x| - cos(Î x)
these are even functions
so lets take the positive x only
x2-2x+1=-1 - cos(Î x)
(x-1)2= - 1 - cos(Î x)
Now LHS is positive
RHS is ≤0
I think now you can do it
